What is going on in this world, I wonder

I listen to all the politicians, Democrats and Republicans. Will any of them really do anything that will help me? I really don’t think so but I do think that one party can really hurt you more than the other.
Like a particular party says that they are sympathetic to the plight of the average American who is hurting financially. Who is the average American? Is it you and me? No it is the lower end of the economic scale. People like you and me will have to pay more to pay for all the packages they would propose.
Immigration really ticks me off. It is such a tough issue for politicians to work on because they count on the votes from Hispanic group and if we tick off the Mexicans coming here illegally they might lose some votes.
This is an area where we can save billions of dollars. "The U.S. Justice Department estimated that 270,000 illegal immigrants served jail time nationally in 2003. Of those, 108,000 were in California. Some estimates show illegals now make up half of California's prison population, creating a massive criminal subculture that strains state budgets and creates a nightmare for local police forces."
The U.S. federal government spent $5.8 billion over the past three years to incarcerate criminal aliens; nonresidents who are in the country illegally or legally and convicted of a crime.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year. This is just in California.
So why is it so hard to get the illegals out and stop having to pay the expense it costs to keep them here?
I understand that it is very hard to close the borders, but we need to try. Next time there is a rally against illegal immigration we should round them all up and send them back home. This is America and they have a right to voice their opinions but you need to be a citizen to obtain those rights.
I dug up an e-mail that was going around. I thought it was really good and written so even the most simple-minded person should be able to understand this.
It really tells it like it is. America is my home and you are welcome in it as long as you play by the rules that are required. If not pack up your butt and leave.
A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.
Her point:
Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let’s say I break into your house. Let’s say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, “No! I like it here. It’s better than my house. I’ve made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I’ve done all the things you don’t like to do. I’m hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters: You are Required to let me stay in your house You are Required to feed me You are Required to add me to your family’s insurance plan You are Required to Educate my kids You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.
It’s only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I’m just trying to better myself. I’m a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE so you can communicate with me.”
Why can’t people see how ridiculous this is? Only in America can you come here illegally, work and not pay taxes, get sick and get treated, have your kids go to school here on us as well as get in state college tuition, drive a car without insurance or a license and not have to worry about speaking English because you don’t have to we will provide your documents in your language.
We need to stop the flow of people coming into this country. We cannot handle the amount of people that are flowing in each year. As I have said in the past a town or city can out a moratorium on allowing sewer hooks because the system can’t handle the flow. Well America can’t handle the flow either and it is time to put a moratorium on allowing more people into this country until the time that we can afford them to come back.
As the illegals say America has been berry berry good to me!
